Ah it's that wonderful time of year when the climate is fine and the colours are in full bloom, both in nature and in fashion, and Spring Racing has once again come around so quick! I recently attended the Caulfield Cup Carnival, and although my punting tactics didn't do me any favours, it was wonderful to soak in the atmosphere and witness not only some of the finest horses race, but some of the most extravagant fashion! I love that Spring Racing gives people the opportunity to dress differently, wear colours and feel ladylike - even if it is just for a day! Caulfield Guineas Day was a really fun day, I went with my husband Ben, my friend Elise and her husband Steve. We made a few punts, enjoyed the hospitality in the Young Member's marquee (thank you to Style Counsel for the tickets), and loved looking at all the different fashions on display!
Caulfield Cup day was just something else! As soon as we entered the gates all we saw was a sea of colour, there were so many people there and everyone was dressed to impress, there were people in pastel, neon and traditional shades of black and white. The fashions on the field competitions was amazing, I think its easy to forget just how much effort these beautiful ladies put into their outfit, and the winner was no exception to the rule. Her outfit was stunning and was specifically crafted from head to toe, she was a deserving winner, but I would have hated to have the judge's job because they were all SO beautiful!
So here are some photos for you to enjoy of my Spring Racing fun!
And soon we'll be at Flemington for the Melbourne Cup Carnival! xx
