So I have been sick the past couple of days, and have been spending a lot of time dreaming over beautiful interiors, a dream kitchen, dream bedroom, dream home. I don't know about you, but I love walking into a room and finding character in every little corner and feeling like the room has a story to tell.
That may sound a little odd, but I hope you're getting the gist of what I'm trying to say. When I was a teenager, I was inspired when I walked into the home of my friend and noticed that every inch of her home had something special about it. From the neat pile of books laid out on the bay window seat to the vintage trunk that sat at the end of the bed, each room had something special to say and although there was so much going on, it just worked.
Lately I have been thinking about what I can do to make my space more beautiful and starting to think that maybe I don't have to wait for the dream house to make the dream interiors happen - it's all about how you want to use your space. Whether it means having crisp white walls or adding in shelves to place ornaments or pictures on, or even just placing a folded blanket on top of the couch or a trunk to give the room a homely feel. Another thing to remember is that colour doesn't just have to be found on the paint on your walls, you can add colour to a room through cushions, blankets/throws, rugs, bed sheets, picture frames, art and even through your appliances.
Plus, the addition of a beautifully scented candle or a touch of natural linen spray can do wonders for your home (especially if like me, you have a pet that predominantly lives inside!)
Now for some of my favourite visuals, all found on Pinterest (seriously get on to it if you haven't yet!)
Okay I think that's enough for now - but seriously, don't wait for your perfect home to make your interiors perfect just do it!
