THE BEST COAST IS THE WEST COAST
Apparently, according to the Jenner girls anyway...!
So following on from my last post, we visited the West Coast of the US with our stay in California in West Hollywood and Seattle. Let me tell you right now, Seattle is like Melbourne - all four seasons in one day and rain in summer (at least we're not the only ones who have to deal with this nonsense), BUT the place itself, the views and the incredible lush-ness makes it all worth it!
In West Hollywood (or WeHo as the locals call it) we stayed at The Mondrian. It's like the best hotel EVER. The rooms are amazing, the pool is amazing and the Skybar is...AMAZING! We ate dinner at Nobu (get there during their happy hour if you can!), frequented Robertsons Boulevard often and of course did a spot of shopping on Rodeo Drive.
We also visited Malibu, which is like the most amazing beach town. It has everything I love in the one spot - the ocean, great shopping, amazing restaurants and stunning views. When in LA, you have to make a visit to Malibu, trust me on that! We did a little hike, ate at a delicious local restaurant and had a wonderful time.
Our last night in LA was spent with wonderful friends on the roof top of Petit Hermitage, which I highly recommended. The dinner was fantastic and featured an array of local produce and delicious cocktails (the espresso martini was as good as one from Melbourne).
Then we jetted off to Seattle (on a 6am flight with 2 hours sleep - definitely NOT RECOMMENDED!), and we arrived into a city which felt a lot like home. Our first few nights were spent at Bellevue and the rest in Woodinville - a cute little town where we made our dreams come true (more about that later..!).
So things to do in Seattle?
- Shop (obviously)
- Visit the Starbucks Roastery (so cool)
- Visit Capitol Hill
- Drink coffee - it's pretty good here
- Go hiking (we didn't make it to Mount Rainier, but you can see it from the city and it's stunning)
- Enjoy the scenery, it's truly one of the most beautiful places I have ever visited
